The president of Montserrat College of Art is resigning to become an executive at the Peabody Essex Museum. Kurt T. Steinberg, Montserrat's president for the past four years, is leaving one North Shore art institution for another, leaving the Beverly college to become the COO of the Salem museum. 'I will not be far away and pledge to be helpful in any way that the college feels would be a benefit to the Montserrat community,' Steinberg said in a message to the campus. 'I plan to be a strong supporter of Montserrat well into the future.
